Jenni Douglas

Jenni Douglas is a printmaker and surface pattern designer from Edinburgh who uses printmaking techniques such as lino-cutting and screen-printing in her work. Her designs are all originally created using linocut blocks which are hand pressed using water based inks, mark making techniques and hand drawn or painted elements.

I really like her design "Poppies No.2" because of the bright colours and simple shapes. I think the colours go really well together and help make the pattern more eye-catching. I also like the negative shapes created by the edges of the poppies.

I am interested in using lino cuts in my work and I have experimented with screen-printing onto fabric for this unit and I am pleased with my results. Below are two of my favourites...
